Yesterday morning, I woke up with a lot on my mind. You can say I was still irritated from the night before about some things I shared with my FATHER (speaking of GOD) that I was not happy about. I am a businesswoman by trade. Therefore, I like things done a certain way concerning business matters or anything linked with any business activities or transactions. So, the night before, my FATHER and I had a long discussion about a few things I was not satisfied with. Now, although GOD did sent His ministering angel to minister to me – which did bring me a level of peace. But evidently, I bottled up my frustrations and took them to bed with me because I woke up the next morning frustrated and irritable, and initially, I did not know why. So, I was like, “LORD! What is going on with me? Because for the past few days, I have been just really like AH! about some things?” So, yesterday morning, after GOD showed me what was really at the core of my frustrations and disclosed to me that I already had the solution to this one particular issue – my atmosphere finally took a turn for the better. Now, I won’t share with you everything GOD and I talked about surrounding my frustrations. Somethings, well, a lot of things are just between GOD and me. But there were a few scriptures GOD took me through that I do feel would benefit anyone here who receives this word. from man’s perspective Far too often, we, define success by this one simple word – increase. Even the church has become trapped by this worldly concept. One of the entries in Webster's Dictionary defines success as “the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence (a position of prominence or superiority). So, from the world’s perspective, success is defined or based on numbers. The more social media followers you have; the more members you have in your church; the more money you make; the more influence you possess, in comparison to others that are in the same trade, service, or arena, the more successful you are. The less increase or numbers you have, the less successful you are. This is the world’s view and many in the church are guilty of adopting such a belief system that does not align with GOD’s word nor HIS perspective. god’s perspectiveAs Christians, we always want to have GOD’s perspective on matters. For this is always our best option when considering all things and all matter. It says at Isaiah chapter 55, starting at verse 8
How the LORD evaluates and perceives things when it comes to success or being successful is (1) completely different from man’s ideology and (2) it has very little to do with numbers (increase) as far as GOD is concerned. So, how does GOD defines success? At Joshua chapter 1, verse 8, reads this way
Did you notice what GOD calls success? Before I answer that, let’s notice first, what GOD does not call success. As we read this verse in Joshua, nowhere does GOD speaks about an increase in numbers that will lead to anyone’s success. Now, in the things I am about to mention, I am not saying, that an increase in numbers does not reflect progress. But what I am saying is this is not how GOD defines success. GOD does not define a man or a widow’s success based on their social media platform growing from zero followers to 100 plus, or even a thousand plus. Nor does HE based success on whether a pastor has grown from a hand full of church members to a couple of hundreds or thousands of members. And HE certainly does not base a Christian business's success on whether an owner has grown from making no profit to thousands of dollars in profits. Now, these things are good but they are not the determining factors that GOD used to measure or determine whether a person is successful or not. For, we, as Christians, know that many in the world are seeking an increase in one way or another to be labeled as successful. But they do not necessarily have GOD’s approval. Man measures success on one scale while GOD’s scope of success is on a completely different level. (Compare t Isaiah 55:8-9). So, at Joshua 1:8, GOD makes a clear distinction on how HE defines success. Joshua 1:8 provides us with two clear points.
Let’s read it again.
GOD defines success not by increase, nor by numbers. But HE describes a person of success as one who read and study HIS word and applies it in their daily activity and life. And it is these actions that will eventually cause us to be prosperous and experience true success according to GOD’s word. Okay, some of y’all are taking issue with this, so let’s look at another scripture. At 1 Samuel, chapter 15, the prophet Samuel is talking with King Saul. After King Saul had failed to follow the explicit instructions that the LORD had given him, Samuel said to Saul at verse 22.
Now, let’s stop right there. We know from the study of the scriptures that GOD’s leaders performed countless burnt offerings and animal sacrifices to appease GOD for their sins or sometimes as a gift to the LORD. So here, in 1 Samuel 15:22, the prophet Samuel is alluding to the number of times the Israelites can make countless burnt offerings and animal sacrifices to the LORD. The priest who was assigned to do this can do this over and over again. But these offerings and sacrifices can be considered null and void from the LORD’s perspective if we are not obedient to what HE is requiring us to do. So, again, let’s read what the prophet Samuel said to Saul.
Obedience. Heeding the word of the LORD is more important than the number of offerings or sacrifices we can offer up to the LORD. So, here GOD defines success not purely based on our offerings and sacrifices. Although, these things are good. But HE based success on being obedient to HIS word, all of HIS commandments, decrees, regulations, expectations, and rules. Being submissive to what HE says in HIS word and to the direction HE personally gives to us is what makes us successful. Alright, one more point. Far too many of us have diluted what is success because we have accepted the world’s view of what success is – which is an increase by some significant number, i.e. social media platform, membership, headcount, subscribers, material goods, wealth, etc. But Jesus said something interesting in one of HIS parables that I think we should consider. Do you recall what He said about the poor widow with the two mites? In this parable, Jesus speaks about two groups of people that enter the treasury to deposit a donation. The first group that donates their money is a part of the wealthy class. Jesus states that these gave out of their surplus. Meaning, what they gave into the treasury will not impact them in any way. Although their giving is good, they are not sacrificing anything. Then Jesus mentions the poor widow who can only give two mites. (A single mite was a copper coin worth a fraction of a penny). So, just imagine. The rich were donating hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to the treasury. But this poor widow could only donate two coins that were worth less than a penny each. Yet, Jesus said this concerning both groups.
We have to be mindful that numbers (or an increase) can be very misleading when we look at it from a man’s perspective. Because numbers can be manipulated, ambiguous, and they do not always represent what it seems. Just because an individual has hundreds or even thousands of members in their group, on their social media platform, or in their organization, it doesn’t mean they are experiencing true success from GOD’s perspective. There are some who only have a few followers or a few members in their church, on their social media platform, or in their organization and GOD may consider these that are really having success or are successful from HIS perspective. GOD is more interested in those who are like the poor widow with the two mites. A widow who was not only obedient to GOD’s word in her giving. But she gave all she had out of her income, not her surplus.
So, let’s conclude with this. What makes a person successful is NOT this number game that many like to play or what the world defines as success. We all need to see success in the same manner as Christ does. And He considers those who are successful are those who are obedient to every word HE utters in HIS word.

We all have to be mindful that we are at different levels. Meaning, what revelation GOD has graced or given me insight and wisdom concerning may not be what GOD has graced or given you insight and wisdom concerning. Does that make me more special? Not necessarily. But it does mean two things.
Unfortunately, this is not always the case with some y’all. The few times when I do share something of spiritual value that I know you guys do not have access to. OMG, some of y’all start glitching and tripping because you cannot understand or grasp what I am sharing. You close your mind to it because it does not fit into the small religious box that you have been taught or you have built your belief system upon. Case in point. When Donald Trump came on the scene to run for president, many elite leaders and almost every prophet in the Body of Christ were comparing Trump to be similar to King Cyprus. (This was based on an interpretation of a dream of a brother that one respectable sister provided. See the movie The Trump Prophecy for details. And please keep this in mind, as you read what I am about to say next. I AM NOT SAYING THAT WHAT THESE BROTHERS OR SISTERS HAVE DECLARED IS NOT TRUE. For we all know in part and we prophesy in part.) For months, GOD did not speak to me about Trump and nor did I ask. I really did not have any interest in Trump. But because of the favor of GOD on my life and that HE can trust me to deliver things just as HE says. (Compare to John 8:28). Christ revealed something to me that no one else, not one single prophet and prophetic leader were saying about Donald Trump. GOD had revealed to me that Trump was more like King Nebuchadnezzar and then HE proceeded to explain why, which I shared in my December 9, 2021 blog, titled, 2019 PROPHETIC WORD - DONALD TRUMP. I opened up that blog by saying.
Shortly after I released this word, quite a few elicit leaders got on their social media platforms and had a few choice words to say about this post, which I never respond to. Their rebellious spirit was not my problem but GOD’s. But let me not get bogged down here because I don’t want to get sidetracked by trivial viewpoints. But I will add this. After Donald Trump did not win the 2020 Presidential Election, which I do strongly believe fraud was done during that election. Several months later, Prophet Jeremiah Johnson, did come out on his platform and said that maybe Donald Trump was not a King Cyrus. Maybe he was more like King Nebuchadnezzar. But I digress. At any rate, I am beginning to believe that these last few years that Trump has been sitting on the sidelines when he should have been in the White House is like his wilderness season. Why do I say that? Because like King Nebuchadnezzar, they both acknowledge GOD’s existence and have seen some of GOD’s powerful acts. But both of these men were not Christians (men of GOD). And they both carried air about themselves as if they were gods themselves. Therefore, they both felt they did not need to repent to a perfect, supreme, and holy GOD.
Eventually, King Nebuchadnezzar ended up living in the woods like a wild animal for several years until he came to acknowledge the one and true living GOD and repented. And then HE was restored to his post. Have we considered, that this is Donald Trump’s problem? He has the same mindset that King Nebuchadnezzar had pre-Nebuchadnezzar's mental breakdown and wilderness experience. No matter whether we are faithful servants of GOD or someone GOD is using outside of HIS Body of Christ. If we do not humble ourselves before a Mighty and Gracious GOD. Or we act or see ourselves as equal to a god. Or we publicly or secretly yearn for people to worship us like we are some kind of god. Eventually, GOD will have to humble us and maybe even temporarily remove us from our post like King Nebuchadnezzar. decency and order As of today, I do not know the plans that GOD has for Donald Trump. Outside of this revelation, GOD provided me about Donald Trump in my June 13, 2019, and December 9, 2019 posts. GOD has not spoken to me about him, nor have I asked.
But we all have to be mindful that GOD is a GOD who does things in all decency and order. Nothing about HIM is chaotic. (Compare to 1 Corinthians 14:33, 40). For instance, we read at Isaiah chapter 13 and chapter 21, verses 1 through 10 about Babylon’s depending prophetic fall. We even read, years in advance of this event, at Isaiah chapter 44, verse 28 and chapter 45, verses 1 through 7, the prophecy that announces King Cyrus as the one who would bring Babylon down from their glory and how he would do it. This prophetic word was spoken by the Prophet Isaiah, about King Cyrus, about 150 years before Cyrus was born. And when Cyrus became of age and became the king of Medo-Persian, Isaiah’s prophecy was fulfilled just as he said (according to the word of the LORD). And secular historical records support the Biblical account of the fall of the Babylon empire and King Cyrus conquering this once great nation – just as GOD said. These accounts reflect how GOD does all things in decency and order. The key here was that the Prophet Isaiah, just like many of the prophets in the Old and New Testament, spoke ONLY what the LORD said. They all had a proper fear of the LORD and therefore, they only spoke what thus saith the LORD. The prophets in the Bible followed GOD’s direction explicitly. The Old and New Testament prophets were not concerned about speaking the same prophetic message as their contemporaries. They were only concerned about hearing from GOD and speaking exactly what the LORD told them to speak. This should be no different for prophets and prophetic speaking voices today. We should not be concerned about saying the same prophetic message as Brother So and So. Nor should we be pressed by prophetic trends or what we think people need or want to hear. Each prophet or prophetic voice that speaks on behalf of GOD should only be concerned about speaking whatever prophetic message GOD has given one to speak. For we all know in part and therefore, prophesy in part. So, when we speak only the part that the LORD gives us. Then in time, we all see and understand how each part that was distributed by GOD to HIS trusted voices, makes sense and is done in all decency and order. (Compare to 1 Corinthians 12:11). And not in a chaotic manner. Prophetic voices can sound chaotic or like clashing cymbals, when most of our prophetic voices in the Body of Christ are trying to (1) match what is trending or (2) predict in their own strength and gifting – (prophesying based on what they would like to see happen). Also, when we follow only the script that GOD provides us to declare. Then, whenever there needs to be a sudden shift in GOD’s plan because an anointed vessel or shepherd that GOD is using for HIS divine purpose has lost sight of GOD’s plan. Or that vessel begins to think too much of himself and needs to be humble by GOD. Then, GOD can clearly speak to us without any hindrance or distraction due to social media or prophetic trends. GOD can trust us with not only a prophetic word, in a given season. He can also trust us to deliver sudden changes whenever they need to be expressed. For, after all, GOD does everything in all decency and order. Let me start by saying, this will be a hard lesson. Many of you will be triggered by this blog’s post. But if you allow the power of GOD’s Word through this blog to arrest and quench (as in saturate) your inner man. Many of you will be delivered by my word as GOD’s apostle. You will be freed from such rebellious behaviors and habits outlined in this blog concerning witchcraft. Also, remember, it is our goal to grow in Christ so that we can be more like Him. (Compare to 1 John 2:6, Galatians 2:20, Romans 12:1-2). With that being said, brace yourself because this is about to be a bumpy ride. what does the bible say about witchcrafTLet’s open up by reading 1 Samuel, chapter 15, verse 23. It reads
Let’s back up a few verses to get an understanding of what is going on here. But let’s read it from the Message Bible. It reads
How did King Saul view his military conquest? He said in 1 Samuel, chapter 15, verses 20 through 21 to the prophet Samuel.
So, King Saul felt he was obedient to the instructions given to him by GOD’s prophet. Let’s go back to verse 22 again and read it from the New Living Translation.
So, how did GOD’s servant, Samuel, respond? He said.
In verse 23, Prophet Samuel compared King Saul’s actions not only to rebellion, as in sin. But he took it a step further and stated that King Saul’s behavior was as sinful as WITCHCRAFT. So, what exactly is witchcraft? Let’s dig deeper into GOD’s Word to find out. what is witchcraft It is very important that a child of GOD understand (1) what is a witch and (2) how to discern them. Otherwise, a child of GOD is setting themselves up to be destroyed by them. Why do I say that? Because the Bible tells us not to be… well, let’s read it for ourselves.
The New Kings James Version says it this way
We don’t want to be outsmarted or taken advantage of because we are ignorant of the fact of what is a witch. Hosea 4:6 boldly puts it this way.
The Message Bible puts it this way.
Let’s not miss the point here concerning why we as Christians should be able to recognize when witches are hiding among us in full view. Let’s read that verse again but this time in the New Living Translation. Verse 11 says
It would be a disservice to ourselves, our family, and especially the church if we, especially leaders, cannot discern when a witch is near nor recognize them. Why? Because we cannot defeat what we do not understand or recognize. Hence, why Hosea chapter 4, verse 6 says my people perish for lack of knowledge. Our ignorance concerning certain demonic strategies, tricks, devices, manifestation, and presence of demonic forces, aka witches in our houses of GOD is what will destroy us. We need to be well acquainted not only with the presence of witches but with their spells, habits, and behaviors in order to stop and defeat them.
Now, we have to understand that there are three types of witches. These witches use the art of magic that is empowered by spells – not curses but spells. Also, be mindful that sorcery is connected to charms. Witchcraft – spells; sorcery – charms. These are two very different things. But a witch and a wizard can both a witch. Also, let’s be mindful that’s witches has nothing to do with gender. Witches and wizards have to do more with an evil art in their identity than a specific gender. So, a witch can be a man or a woman. Witchcraft has to do with both spells and incantations. According to the Holy Scriptures, there are three types of witches. One is more dangerous than the other. So, let’s break them down. type 3 witches |
… Idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and envy… (Galatians 5:20-21, NIV). (The NKJV adds murders to its text). |
If these qualities are rising in you. You are becoming a witch – … idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders….
Cain manifested many of these qualities. Be mindful that both Cain and his brother, Able were servants of the MOST HIGH GOD. They both were making an offering to GOD and yet witchcraft entered Cain during a prayer and worship service. They were spending time with GOD. So, witchcraft had its birth right there in the church while members were in GOD’s presence. It is heavily rooted in the church. And many today in the church are carriers of this witchcraft spirit unconsciously – … idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders.
Let’s prove this by going even deeper into GOD’s Word.
We need to understand that witches easily become envious and jealous of others. And he or she looks for a way to alter things, whether spiritually or in nature. How so? Go to 1 Samuel 15:23.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king. |
So, let’s analyze please ourselves. (See 2 Corinthians 13:5). Do we exhibit these traits? Remember, a witch is not just, a woman. It can be a male or female.
BE DELIVERED! Either by means of having that familiar spirit cast out of you. Or, really work on that rebellious spirit of yours – see Galatians 5:20-21 – … idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders. These are the nature of witchcraft.
… The apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the WORD of GOD, they sent Peter and John to them, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive Holy Spirit. |
While there, Philip as an evangelist was having great success with converting and baptizing people in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 8:12-13). Because these men and women were the first non-Jews to receive the gospel, the body of apostles, felt it was needed to send Peter and John as official, apostolic delegates to Samaria to investigate the matter. Especially because of the Jewish-Samaritan relations that existed at the time.
SIDEBAR: For decades, since the days of Jacob, there was fierce and long-standing hatred between the Jews and Samaritans. This existing enmity caused a great divide between these brother nations. One that seemed impossible to heal or mend. At least not until that encounter the Samaritan woman had with Jesus at the well (John 4:5-6). Hence why the Samaritan woman asked Jesus when he asked her for a drink of water from the well. “How is it You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman? For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans” (John 4:9). |
The apostles were administrating Holy spirit
Now, this is such a different understanding from what is being taught to us in the churches today. Many of us are taught that as soon as an individual is baptized, they are immediately endowed with Holy Spirit. Hence why so many in the church today believe that a Christian cannot be imparted and possessed by an evil spirit. What an erroneous understanding on our part. For we can clearly see that the Scriptures teach a completely different viewpoint. I’ll come back to this point in a minute.
We also can see that not all preachers or teachers of the gospel are able to administrate the power of Holy Spirit in new converts. For Philip was only able to successfully preach the gospel to the point of baptizing people. Philp was not able to administrate the Promised Holy Spirit in the people. That was the gifting and special assignment given to the apostles like John and Peter. Hence, they were sent to Samaria so the people ‘might’ receive Holy Spirit.
Holy spirit cannot dwell in mess
This Bible teacher, whose name is Regina, wanted her Bible student to understand that just because she had gotten baptized did not mean she could now automatically receive the promised Spirit of GOD. It did not work that way. For many of us, at our baptism, we still were living a messy lifestyle. Many of us had not acquired the mind of Christ as of yet. Most of us have not been transformed. And until these things take place. Most of us in the church, have not received the promised Holy Spirit to dwell in us.
We can confirm this with the baptism of Simon the sorcerer. One of the men that Philp converted and baptized. After hearing the good news, Simon eagerly converted and got baptized (Acts 8:13). Then he observed the things that were taking place when Peter and John came and laid their hands on the people. He saw the power that exhume from the depth of their spirits and he desperately wanted that power. So, he approached Peter and John and said, “… give me this power also, that anyone on who I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” Then he offended them money to buy the power of Holy Spirit. As we know. Simon never received the promise that was available for anyone who received Christ and was baptized. Instead, Simon was rebuked by Peter and almost died because of his reproach against Holy Spirit.
can church leaders not see and understand
One reason for this is that the right men or women that are gifted to properly administrate this power of Holy Spirit in people, in the Body of Christ, have not been received or properly activated by the church, that is, its leaders. Noticed the church sent the APOSTLES – Peter and John. The apostles went and laid their hands on these new Samaritan converts and THEN the promised Holy Spirit was activated in them. Let me add. SOME OF THEM.
Do not the church and its leaders today see this? Do they understand that GOD is a GOD of order and there are things that must take place under the guidance and direction of GOD and HIS Spirit for the CHURCH’S POWER TO BE ACTIVATED ONE AGAIN? Do they not see and understand the ways of GOD?
Your church, the Body of Christ is lacking the fullest of GOD because leaders, church leaders, refuse to govern themselves and their congregations fully upon and in the ways of GOD. But instead, they do so under the precepts and whims (that is, impulses, urges, notions, quirks) of man. So, we the church are powerless and losing battles that should already be ours.
White.
Black.
Feminism.
Homosexuality.
Just choose.
Take for instance, social justice programs and public marches like Black Lives Matter (😶), etc. I won’t go there today. Some things are just not worth going down that road for when some folks do not want to see the real agenda behind such corrupted and twisted programming. I say programming because that is what they really are trying to do. Deprogram the masses to only reprogram us to submit to their ungodly agendas like Black Lives Matter. Okay, I’m getting sidetracked. Moving on.
Many of these social programs and alike are on the wrong side of the invisible spiritual battle that is taking place in our world that is directly influencing our local, big and small, communities. That is the people at large.
GENUINE LOVE AND GRACE
You can’t just preach, welcome, and invite whites only. Or segregated this congregation for blacks only. Okay, y’all get the point I’m making so I won't make my long laundry list.
I am grateful that in the early stages of my rededication to Christ many years ago that He showed me the faces of heaven and its diversity. The diversity that is NOT covered up by the pretense and undertones of acceptance and tolerance. But the genuine love and grace that is being displayed between man and woman, the great and the small, the white and the black, etc. People whose hearts and minds that have been truly transformed and healed and have adopted the mind of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Resulting in true diversity in heaven in its purest form.
We as Christians, cannot continue in this season idling our time by taking a complacent disposition in our local churches, businesses, or communities. We must stand for something or blindly fall for anything. When GOD spoke to me many years ago on this matter. Expressing to me, I must stand for something. He made it very clear the position HE wanted me to take by saying.
"Deaidre, whenever I send you back into this community from which I rescue you. I want you to remember Joshua. The encounter Joshua had with the Commander of MY army.” (Read Joshua 5:13-15). GOD continued. “In fear, not knowing who the man was, Joshua asked MY Commander. 'Are you for us or for our adversaries?'
Joshua was looking at this Commander from a humanist standpoint. Obviously, Joshua and this Commander were on the same side, on the same team. But did you notice how MY COMMANDER responded?"
At the time, I didn't know. So, I responded no. Then GOD answered. "MY Commander stated that he was on neither side."
the perfect example
So, what about you? What kind of stance are you taking in your community, in your church, or in your work environment? Are taking sides concerning this or that? Or are you taking a similar position as GOD's Commander of HIS army? That is neither this side nor that side but your position is always in harmony with the will of the LORD. Food for thought.
After hearing Philip preach about the Kingdom of GOD and the name of Jesus Christ, Simon decides to convert from his practice of magical arts to the faith in which Philip was teaching (Acts 8:12-13). In fact, Simon took his newfound faith to the point of getting baptized in the name of Jesus. That part, ‘in the name of Jesus’ is important because we are going somewhere with this.
Shortly after Simon’s baptism, he followed Philip on his preaching tour throughout the city of Samaria. It was here that Simon witnessed firsthand the miracle works of Philip’s ministry. He witnessed Philip not only preaching and teaching. But observed him laying his hands on the people. And when he did, instantaneously, the paralyzed and lame were healed and the demon-possessed or oppressed were set free (demons were cast out of people). Simon was amazed by Philip’s anointing, power, authority, and giftings (Acts 8:13; also compare to 1 Corinthians chapter 12).
Holy spirit is made known
SIDEBAR: We need to be mindful that the Samaritans were non-Jews. So, they were the first non-Jewish descents to receive the message of Christ. Because these individuals were not of Jewish heritage. It was necessary to send apostolic delegates to investigate the matter. For if you recall, when Jesus interacted with the Samaritan woman at the well. She declared to Jesus, a Jewish man. “Jews have no dealings with Samaritans” (John 4:9). |
As I was saying, the people of Samaria who received Christ and were baptized in the name of Jesus had not received the indwelling of Holy Spirit (Acts 8:14-17).
biblical correction
THOUGHT PROVOKING: This is one of the reasons why many Christians believe that Christians cannot be demonic possessed or oppressed, which is not true. This is an error presented to the church that has crept into our church as if this is doctrine when it is not. Now, keep in mind, that what I am about to say, is not the rule or true in every case. But I am confident enough to say it is probably the situation for most baptisms. When an individual receives Christ in their heart or at the time of their baptism, this is not necessarily when Holy Spirit comes into their lives and live, that is, dwells within them. Every situation and individual is different. Some will receive Holy Spirit either at the time they receive Christ in the heart (prior to their baptism). While others may receive Holy Spirit at the time of their baptism. But for most of us, we do not receive the baptism of Holy Spirit until much later after our baptism. And there is a reason for that. Unfortunately, I will not be able to go in-depth in this discussion to break this down for you. This is not GOD’s focus in today’s Talking Point lesson. Maybe one-day GOD will give me the green light to break this down for you all. In the meantime, back to our current discussion. |
Now, we need to stop right there and you need to investigate this a little more. Because as I mentioned before. Many of us have been taught and believe that as soon as one either receives Christ in their heart or gets baptized, they automatically receive Holy Spirit. That is where the contradiction resides in what we have been taught in our churches compared to what the WORD of GOD actually says and teaches. Much of what we believe or not believe about the Trinity, celebrating customs and holidays, the giftings of the SPIRIT, baptism, Holy Spirit, etc. is erroneous. Not unless you get in your WORD for yourself and study the Scriptures for yourself, you will never come to a true knowledge of GOD, HIS ways, HIS WORD, or Biblical truth or revelation as taught by GOD’s SPIRIT. (Compare to Acts 17:11). GOD’s SPIRIT, that is HIS Holy Spirit is key, a critical part of our ministry and livelihood more than ever before today. And that’s what I need to discuss in this Talking Point today. The role of Holy Spirit.
the role of Holy spirit
During those 3 ½ years, not one of Jesus’ apostles had received Holy Spirit. GOD’s SPIRIT was not dwelling in them although all of them were baptized in the name of Jesus.
So, let’s go back a few chapters to Acts chapter 1, and let’s read about how Jesus the Christ, introduced Holy Spirit to His congregation of Saints. Starting with verse 4.
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:4-8) |
|
As His apostles assembled together, Jesus instructs them to not leave Jerusalem under any circumstances. They are to stay there until the Promise of the FATHER has come. Now, this Promise Jesus was speaking of was Holy Spirit. At this point in their ministry. No man or woman, who was baptized in the name of Jesus, received a baptized by Holy Spirit. They were only baptized in the name of Jesus (See Acts 1:5).
What is interesting is what Jesus’ apostles asked next. It certainly indicated that they still did not clearly understand what Jesus was talking about and knew nothing about Holy Spirit – His role or abilities or authority or power; although they all were baptized Christians.
Noticed what they asked.
“… Lord, will you at this time restore the Kingdom of Israel?” (Acts 1:6) |
At any rate, Jesus once again had to correct their thoughts, their mindset, their misconception, and misdirection of what needed to be done and what GOD’s intention was. So, Jesus responded to them by saying.
“… It is not… time or season which the FATHER has put in HIS own authority.” (Acts 1:7) |
“… You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come to you….” (Acts 1:8) |
The coming of holy spiriT
In verses 9 through 11 of Acts chapter 1, Jesus returns to His rightful place to the FATHER in heaven. Upon ascending to heaven, His apostles did as Jesus instructed and returned to Jerusalem. When they arrived, they all gathered in the upper room. While there, they all in one accord continue to pray and supplicate. Now, a lot of other things took place while they were in Jerusalem in the upper room. But we are going to skip that part and go straight into the main event that took place in Acts chapter 2.
So, it was time for one of the Jewish required annual festivals – Pentecost. Also, called Feast of Weeks or Days of Firstfruits. Therefore, all the Jews were gathered in one accord in one place. And when they least expect it. A loud, unusual, and distinct sound came from heaven. This sound was not a wind, but its sound resembled the wind. (Compare to John 3:8). This sound entered the house (the upper room) where the apostles were gathered. The apostles were about to enter into a new church era because of what they were about to experience, that is encounter. They were about to see first hand, this Promise that Jesus spoke of previously. (See Acts 1:4-8). They were about to understand the triune GOD, that is the Trinity of GOD for themselves – that is, the FATHER, the Son, and now Holy Spirit (GOD’s SPIRIT).
Verse 4 says, when this sound entered their upper room, all who were present were filled with Holy Spirit.
SIDEBAR: Please note that when Holy Spirit came and took over their upper room and filled all who were present. This took place during the Jewish holiday or annual festival – the festival of Pentecost. So, all of the Jews would have been present in the city of Jerusalem for this feast. But Holy Spirit only entered the upper room, came and indwelled in Jesus’ apostles and a few disciples that were present in the upper room. Holy Spirit did not come to indwell in all of Jesus’ disciples or all the Jews that were in the city at that time for the festival. Neither did Holy Spirit come to indwell in the entire congregation of GOD (all Christians) at that time. The Scriptures did not say that and we know there were more Christians, disciples of Christ in the city at the time of this festival. Please, do not let this point escape you. Here too is another evidence that individuals must go through individualized processes before Holy Spirit will come and indwell in a Christian. It does not always happen immediately when a person decides
It does happen for some but not for all. Why? Because many (if not most) of us are still living in some form(s) of sin(s) at the time of our accepting Christ or our baptism. And until we truly repent from certain things and root out of us of certain habits, ways, and mindsets of this world and our flesh – we will not and cannot be baptized by fire or the SPIRIT of the LIVING GOD, that is Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit cannot reside in what is still living in (meaning practicing) certain sinful nature. We can come as we are to Christ, and Christ will receive us – that is, get baptized in the name of Jesus. But the baptism of Holy Spirit will not take place and come and dwell in us until we have reached a certain point in our walk with Christ FOR MOST OF US. These two different things, that require two different processes – baptism in the name of Jesus and baptism by Holy Spirit. And let me add. Speaking in tongues IS NOT EVIDENCE that you have or I should say, Holy Spirit is in you. This too is an erroneous teaching that is taught as if it is doctrine by some. Speaking in tongues is just an ability, one of the gifts of the Spirit that GOD distributes to some for a specific purpose. (See 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, 18, 27-31). Gifts of the Spirit serve a specific purpose in the Body of Christ. All Christians rarely have the privilege of operating in all 9 gifts of the Spirit. This means, there may be some, who will not operate in the gift to speak in tongues although I do believe, we all should be able to speak in tongues. Moving on. |
First, let us establish that GOD wanted to do a new thing on earth at that time. It was necessary to do something different than what the apostles were accustomed to doing in and through their ministry.
Now, the difference between Christ’s leaders (His apostles) back then and His leaders today is this. When Christ’s apostles understood that GOD was doing something totally different than HE has done in the past. They all in one accord submitted to the will of GOD. But today, both men and women refuse to change even when they sense or discern or speak about the fact that GOD is doing something new, something different than HE has done in the past. Many refuse to submit to the will of GOD in order to maintain their status and position in the BODY. Or due to the fear they have toward man – they want and need to be accepted and approved by man. As a result, of this positioning that many have or are currently taking – they will lose their position, authority, or role in the Body of Christ. But in the case of the apostles of Christ. Because they submitted to GOD’s will (the new thing GOD was doing). These men became more influential and more powerful, and they began to do greater things on the earth than Christ did as Christ had said they would. (See John 14:12).
Now, why were they able to do greater things than Christ? Because the SPIRIT of the LORD was now with and in them.
So, let’s go to John chapter 14 to clearly understand what Jesus said to His disciples before ascending to heaven. In verses 7 through 11, Jesus first talks about the relationship the apostles have with Him as the Son of God. And then He takes it a step further by saying
If you had known Me, you would have known My FATHER also…. (John 14:7) |
… He who has seen Me has seen the FATHER… I am in the FATHER, and the FATHER is in Me…. The FATHER that dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the FATHER and the FATHER in Me…. (John 14:9-11; also see John 10:30; John 1:1; Colossians 2:9) |
… I will pray the FATHER, and HE will give you another Helper that He may abide with you forever – the Spirit of truth, whom the world (people in general) cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him…. (John 14:15-17) |
… For He dwells with you and will be in you (John 14:17). |
Here's the point concerning Simon’s conversion. When the apostles – John and Peter came down to Samaria to lay hands on the people ‘so they might receive Holy Spirit.’ That is, to be baptized with Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost as some like to say). Simon observed the things that took place whenever John and Peter laid hands on the people. Simon desperately wanted what they had. He wanted to possess the level of power that John and Peter were operating in. He thought the giftings of the LORD and the SPIRIT of the LORD were for sale (like some in the church believe and operate today). Simon actually believe by buying this power from John and Peter that he would be able to lay his hands on people and many would receive Holy Spirit from him (John 14:16-19).
This was a sin on Simon’s part. And as we can see. There was something(s) that still reside in Simon at the time of his conversion to Christ and his baptism that prevented him from receiving the indwelling of Holy Spirit in him. Therefore, he did not receive Holy Spirit or was baptized by Holy Spirit at his baptism. Nor will he ever truly receive the indwelling of Holy Spirit because of his mindset, his erroneous doctrine, and beliefs, and due to the motive of his heart.
Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.” Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.” (Acts 8:20-24) |
Despite the flaw and prideful arrogance on the part of GOD’s people. GOD did not change HIS plans. GOD knew what was and who is best to complete HIS tasks and who would explicitly follow the instructions HE supplied. (Compare to Proverbs 14:12; Hebrews 13:17; Acts 5:29). And that man was Moses. Therefore, GOD was going to use Moses for the purpose to rescue, save, and deliver HIS people from the clitch of Pharoah's hands.
So, here was the people's dilemma. Either they were going to submit and get behind what GOD was doing and who HE was doing it through. Or they were going to refuse to follow GOD’s direction and reject the one GOD has raised up to deliver them. Their plight, if they choose to do the latter, was that they positioned themselves to be in opposition with GOD – refusing to follow GOD’s ways, HIS direction, HIS guidance, and the one HE appointed to be ruler over them. (Compare to Acts 5:39). This was and is so dangerous that they pinned themselves in a position to be removed from the assembly of GOD because they refused to obey. GOD cannot and will not allow the disobedience of a selected few individuals to stop the forward progress of HIS plans to free HIS people. HE needed Moses’ focus to be on doing everything GOD called him to do. And if GOD needed to remove a few men and or women out of Moses' way for Moses to fulfill GOD’s WORD. Then removal GOD will do. Remember, Korah’s rebellion against Moses at Numbers chapter 16.
a rebellious peoplE
People, this means our life or subsequential premature death, if we continue to choose to be blinded by the characteristics of people GOD chooses. That is, the color of their skin, age, gender, experiences, knowledge, influence, how many followers they have on social media or lack thereof. Their likeability, popularity, financial status, etc. GOD knows WHAT HE IS DOING WHEN HE RAISES UP A DELIVER TO SAVE AND DELIVER HIS PEOPLE. But when GOD’s people choose to rebel against the Prophet whom HE has sent, to rebel against GOD, it delays the works of GOD on behalf of HIS people. Things become chaotic and long and drawn out for not only GOD’s people (a delayed answer to your prayers). But also for GOD’s man, the one HE has chosen, which in this case was Moses.
Okay, let’s see what takes place in the next verses and determine what we can learn from it.
Side Note: Let me add. I do not write these blog posts just to pastime or to gain attention and traffic to my platforms. No, certainly not. I will rather be doing other things if that is the case. I write and only write when GOD compels me to and HE has placed something in my heart or spirit that is worthy to write about. PERIOD. I have no other motivation. These blog posts represent how GOD is speaking in and through me as HIS apostle. In order to help GOD’s people to know and understand not only this awesome GOD they serve. But what HE is currently doing and to highlight to GOD’s people, some of the people (primarily Prophets) HE is electing to move through as HIS oracle in this season. Apostles do not necessarily guide GOD’s people as Prophets do. Although, some do move within the gifts of this divine mantle. But GOD’s chosen, appointed, and anointed apostles help to govern GOD’s people to the body of principles presented in the Gospel for acceptance of belief or doctrine. So that the assembly of GOD can experience explosive growth as taught or governed by the apostles of GOD. (Compare to Acts 2:41-42). Please be mindful of this simple fact concerning the 5 fold ministry of GOD.
All five roles are needed in the body of Christ today. Without one of these divine offices in place in any Church, the houses of GOD. That house will be dysfunctional, experience chaos, and certainly will miss this next move of GOD. (Compare to 1 Corinthians chapter 12). |
These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age. |
a great exodus they almost forfeited
As we recall at Acts 7:34, GOD sees and hears the distress of HIS people and HE chooses to come down to deliver them. So, at Acts chapter 7, verses 16 through 36, GOD comes down to deliver HIS people from the hands of Pharoah, the Egyptian king – their enemy. To achieve this, GOD chooses a man HE will use to guide and lead HIS people through this turmoil period (season) of deliverance. But initially, GOD’s people, reject the one GOD sends (Acts 7:25).
At verse 25, it says that Moses assumed by his people that they understood what GOD was doing and who GOD was doing through. But the people did not understand GOD’s intent. Nor did they understand that GOD had chosen a specific man, shortly after his birth whom HE would use to deliver HIS people. Instead, they mocked and questioned the validity of Moses – GOD’s chosen vessel. They questioned with great disgust – who is this Moses? Is he now supposed to be the ‘ruler’ over us? (verse 27) Who made him ‘judge’ over us? We will come back to this point later in our discussion.
Now, these are some interesting questions. Because what GOD’s people had questioned, mocked, and doubted was exactly their situation GOD had chosen for them. GOD did handpick Moses as their leader and as their delivery. GOD did validate and vetted Moses.
Thought Provoking: Noticed – no man was a part or involved in this selection process. Compare to 1 Corinthians 12:11, 18, 24 -25, 28. |
Look at the complete arrogance and rebellious spirit of GOD’s people who are asking for GOD’s help.
“’ This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘the LORD your GOD will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren….’” (Acts 7:37) |
Instead, note what Acts chapter 7, verses 38 and 39 said concerning GOD’s people. They mocked Moses’ efforts to help deliver them by saying. “This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers….”
Did you see that? They are actually saying. Is this not JUST Moses?A man like us? He is no different or better than us is he not? Because he supposedly had an encounter with GOD on Mount Sinai, we now to receive him as our leader and judge? They actually were spitting on the one GOD had anointed as their Prophet because they were blinded by their own self-righteous way of thinking and basing things on how things should be from their perspective. We can expand this point but let’s move on because we need to see and understand their spiritual condition and mindset that affected and spread like gangrene throughout GOD’s entire congregation.
Verse 38 goes on and says, “… the one who received the living oracles to give to us….”
Now, let’s stop right there for a minute. Here, the message or their understanding should be clear but it is not. Again, it says, ‘the one who received the living oracles to give to us.’ What is this ‘living oracle’? If we cross reference this verse and go to Hebrew chapter 5, verse 12. It reads
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. |
The double-mindedness of GOD’s people. GOD’s people were so conflicted. So confused by what GOD was doing and who HE was doing it through that verse 39 states. Not only did they reject Moses. But … ‘their hearts turned back to Egypt….’
Is this not what we the people are doing today? All over the world, GOD has positioned HIS Prophets to guide HIS people through this tremendous time. To avoid the traps, deception, and lies of this current political administration. GOD has and is exposing their crooked and corrupted ways. And yet, today, we see too many of GOD’s people still choosing to turn their hearts back to the abase leadership we see in our current presidential administration.
So, how did the Israelites – turn their hearts back to Egypt? As Moses was away, sitting before the face of GOD to receive a word from GOD to speak to GOD’s people. The people rebelled and convinced Aaron. The man GOD appointed as Moses’ assistant. To make them another god they could worship and offer sacrifices. That they could celebrate (Acts 7:40-41). Compare to Exodus 20:3.
They, the people of GOD almost forfeited their GREAT EXODUS from Egypt because of their personal ideology. Because they refused to see and understand what GOD was doing? Their ignorance to understand and see why GOD had chosen Moses? They failed to accept GOD’s answer to their prayers because their delivery was not packaged the way they expected.
don’t miss the next move of god
Wake up GOD’s people locally as well as nationally. Or you will miss it. The move of GOD.
god delivers the israelites from egypt
Now I know that I know, I am going to mess up some of y’all psyche, belief systems, rituals, and mindsets. But let’s think about this. There is nowhere in the Bible where a single person was ever healed instantaneously. It always, always involved a process.
The Nation of israel deliverance process
Did you notice the steps? Now, if we go back a chapter in Exodus, we learn in time that Joseph and all his brothers died (verse 6). Sometimes afterward a new king was inaugurated into power in Egypt (verse 8). He soon noticed the growth, influence, and power they had gained. So, this king decides to enslave the Israelites and appointed brutal slave drivers over them (verse 11). They worked the Israelites ‘without mercy’ and then implemented a plan to eliminate the Israelites by murdering every male Hebrew boy within a certain demographic (verses 15 through 22).
Many years passed and the Hebrews desire relief from their harsh predicament. They pleaded with GOD for many years before GOD finally decided they had repentant and were ready for the second phase of their deliverance process. So, yes, the first step of any deliverance process is the mental prepping of an individual or a group or nation for what will come, what they will have to endure and go through to obtain their full deliverance.
So, now that they have sincerely repented and GOD is now ready ‘to act’ on HIS people’s behalf (verse 25).
SIDEBAR: Verse 25 of Exodus chapter 2 says, GOD looked down on HIS people “… and knew it was time to act.” To act is stating that GOD acknowledged HIS obligation to help HIS people. |
Then the elders (leaders) among the Israelites had to go through their process to receive and try to understand what it was GOD was doing in and through Moses and his brother Aaron to set them all free from the hands of Pharoah. (See Exodus chapter 4 verses 29 through 30). In these two steps
1. GOD had to convince Moses to accept his divine calling and purpose to set GOD’s people free, aka deliver them. 2. Then GOD’s leadership among the nation had to be receptive to not only what GOD was doing but also who GOD selected to do it through. NOTE: If the leadership of Israel would have rejected the one GOD had selected to help set them free. Then it would either delay their deliverance process or they would have forfeited their right to be freed altogether and forever remain under the grip of a tyrant kingdom. |
|
Just taking into considering these first two steps, it is obvious to see that there is no way anyone can achieve instantaneous deliverance. It just does not happen. With these two steps along, it can take years. For some people and environments – decades. This is not rocket science. And we as the Body of Christ really need to stop putting this kind of unnecessary pressure and expectation on people. It is unrealistic, unloving, not justified, and not right nor fair to cripple people with impractical goals and personal religious ambition. And it sets them up for failure.
This moves us into step 3 of the deliverance process.
Once a person or group or nation (1) realizes they need a deliverer to deliver them. (2) Genuinely want deliverance. (3) Sincerely repents and seeks GOD for their deliverance. (4) THEN GOD turns HIS attention to the person, group, or nation that needs deliverance and decides to act on their behalf. (5) THEN GOD puts people and things into place to achieve that deliverance. (6) THEN, IF the individual or the people the deliverance involves, agree to and follow ALL the provisions GOD puts in place. There are two more steps in the deliverance process. (NOTE: There is a fifth element – maintaining that deliverance or freedom, but we won’t cover that here today).
Step 3 of the deliverance process is THE PROCESS itself. What a person, group, or nation must undergo, experience, have to endure, or encounter. The transformation they must receive to obtain the prize or the results they want. Next to the mental process of deliverance, this is the most tedious, difficult, demanding, and complex part of this 5-step deliverance process.
For example, many of yall know my background with homosexuality. That journey for me, once I decided I needed GOD and I could not obtain the freedom I desperately wanted without HIM. That began for me a 5-year journey from undoing mindsets I had learned. To relearning my Bible and about GOD and HIS ways and HIS expectations. To gain mastery over certain sexual behaviors I had become accustomed to and enjoyed to a degree. I had to learn to change my environment, and the people I hung out and socialize with. I could no longer listen to certain types of music that I enjoyed. I had to change my career, who I did business with, and the partnerships that I had built. I had to learn to hear from GOD for myself and practice total obedience. Then I had to learn to grow up in Christ which meant rejecting the things, hopes, and dreams I may have had, especially those things that are attached to this world.
That five-year journey was tough. My flesh, Satan and his minions, family and friends, and my environment and surroundings did not make my journey easy at all. I gave up everything. And I mean everything. I hit rock bottom. Was left with nothing. At some point, I had to become totally dependent on GOD to provide for me through the goodness of others’ grace and mercy. HE, GOD broke me. But TODAY, PRAISE JAH! I AM NOT THE SAME WOMAN I WAS WHEN I FIRST STARTED THAT PROCESS. I am not. And I am not easily tossed here and there by people’s opinions of me, people’s thoughts about my shaky past, or my successes today because I have endured GOD’s process.
The point is to get me completely delivered from the many strongholds I was dealing with at that time, it took GOD a total of 5 years. A friend of mine came out of that environment the same time I did and it took that person only one year and a few months before this individual experienced their total deliverance. Same issues with similar processes. Same results. But different duration. But in each situation, neither one of us was delivered instantaneously. Each one had to undergo.
Step 1 – a change in our mindsets, belief systems, habits, and complacency.
Step 2 – GOD had to relocate both of us from one state to another. And then initially appoint one person that spent that first year with us helping us to walk this thing out. And then later inserted the Body of Christ into our lives to help us further grow and mature.
SIDEBAR: Now, I got to say. This was the most dangerous and difficult part of my journey. Because most in the church, once my past became appropriate, were not willing to receive me and what GOD was doing in and through me. I became a target. Many refuse to believe that GOD can change you or I should say change a person who has lived a homosexual life; nor believe a person can maintain it. So, because leaders were making it difficult for me. You can imagine what members of the congregation did. (And I say leaders as a whole because if one is allowed to do it then they all are responsible in GOD’s eyes because they are one body). My second, third, and fourth years of my deliverance process were horrible. I really don’t know how I survived all that because of CHURCH people. Well, I know how but I am making a point. Here I want you to understand that season in my life was dangerous because GOD was setting things in place for my success. But the Church was doing the complete opposite and trying to tear me down in the process. What I went through by means of men and women in the Church should have forced me to quit. To turn away from the Church and even go back to what I was doing before. BUT GOD! If I have gained anything from that experience. It has helped me to not be bothered by people’s opinions, what they think about my past or me in general. And its helped me to not be easily tossed here or there by the church’s idiosyncrasy. |
No such thing as insTANtaneous deliverance
In this discussion, we are going to learn that Moses had the right idea of what GOD wanted to do. But displayed the wrong actions, at the improper time, in the incorrect season. This resulted in Moses’ plans and effects not working out as they should for Moses nor GOD’s people. So, let’s take a closer look at these events and how can we apply them to ourselves and our families' lives today.
disputes between brothers
Side Note: Unfortunately, disagreements or misunderstandings occur in Christian congregations all the time. (This same principle can be applied to any and EVERYTHING in our lives). Sadly, it is to be expected because we ALL are imperfect. (Compare to Romans 3:23). The underlined problem from GOD’s perspective (and should be from all leaders’ view) is that too many Christians fail to properly apply the principle stated at Matthew 18:15-17. Step 1: “If your brother sins against you” [it doesn’t matter if the other party is aware they have done so or not], go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. Step 2: But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. Step 3: If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. Step 4: And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. (Compare to Hebrews 12:5-11; 1 Corinthians 11:32; Revelation 3:19). [Yes, as much as church members and non-Christians hate this step. But sometimes disfellowshipping is necessary to protect the entire congregation]. NOTE: Steps 3 & 4 principles are not necessarily applicable to every situation. But Steps 1 & 2 should be applied no matter what the issue is. Alright, let’s not get bogged down here. Moving on. |
Moses certainly was taken aback by this brother’s response. After all, was he not helping his brothers the Israelites by his actions? Was he not attempting to take steps to help his brothers to be set free from the yoke of the Egyptians?
Today, we need to look at the actions and reactions of Moses’ efforts to help his people. We also need to consider why it is very dangerous to try to move ahead of GOD’s timing when it comes to HIS timing in delivering HIS people.
The ACtions and the reaction
Side Note: We have to remember that GOD is not an unjust god. HE truly loves each one of us. HE sees himself as a FATHER first, that acts as a righteous judge. GOD always chooses to lick our wounds so to speak and heal them before HE opts to discipline us as our JUDGE. (That is if we truly take responsibility for our actions and truly repent). Keep in mind, I am not saying GOD wants to discipline us for every little thing we do, especially after we sincerely repent. But remember, the Israelites find themselves in their current plight as slaves because of their own doings (sins). For instance, when King David acted poorly when he took another man’s wife – Beersheba, as well as murdered her husband to cover up their pregnancy. Although David later repented, GOD still allowed David to experience the full penalty for his bad decision-making. Is this not what a loving and righteous father does? Is this not what you do as a father whenever your children make bad decisions? You do not shield or prevent them from feeling the full efforts of their own poor decision-making? Okay, moving on. |
|
Thought Provoking: GOD’s timing is so critical, especially when dealing with any form of deliverance. If done too soon, before the people involved are ready, the deliverance won’t stick. They will find themselves right back into the same mindset, habits, and sin. Recall while in the wilderness some had said to Moses, shortly after their deliverance. “As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the Lord, and they said to Moses, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt? Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!’” How soon do they forget how really bad their circumstances were under the mighty hands of Pharoah? Did they forget that they were slaves? Initially, the Hebrews were not mentally ready for their freedom. They were not ready for anyone other than Pharoah a tyrant slave master to lead them. Within the Israelites’ hearts, they have not fully acknowledged their own sins against GOD and therefore, did not truly repent for their offenses. Plus, Moses was not ready to lead GOD’s people. This was obvious based on the fact that he moves ahead of GOD’s timing. And certainly, based on the type of sin he committed and his failure to address and repent from his own sin, reflected Moses’ maturity at the time. As well as his failure to inquire of the LORD before taking action on his own. Side Note: Alright before moving on, let’s consider this. We all know and can agree that nothing we can do, will do, or have done, surprises GOD. NOTHING. He knows our future and EVERY single thing we will do and say in any situation before we even do and say them. (Compare to Jeremiah 1:5). Now, that’s good. GOD being the GOD He is, gives us the room to make judgments and decisions for ourselves. But within that scope of freedom, HE provides us, HE always prompts us by throwing at us warning signs our way or sending to us HIS prophets or other servants to warn us not to go, or say, or do this or that. GOD will prefer us to always heed all of HIS warnings. But HE gives us the space to choose for ourselves. But if not, we too, like Moses, like King David, like King Solomon, like King Saul, or like Ananias and Sapphira will abuse and misuse that GOD giving freedom for our own personal gains or crooked pleasures (Compare to Acts 7:23-29; 1 Kings 11:4; 2 Samuel 12; Acts 5:1-11). Resulting in an appointed time when we will have to face the full consequences of our bad decisions in our present or future. Not because GOD wants to punish us. No certainly not. But because we refuse to benefit from GOD’s provisions of repentance and forgiveness. We refuse to be obedient. We refuse to abandon our ways, actions, habits, and speeches. We refuse to turn it around. We refuse to LET IT GO. Okay, let me not get bogged down here. Let’s move on. |
we must be ready
Side Note: Now, please do not get this twisted. GOD hates the shrewing of blood. |
But at the time of Moses’ untimely action, he nor the Israelites were ready. In fact, according to Acts chapter 7, verse 30, it would take Moses 40 years to be ready to carry the weight and responsibilities of delivering GOD’s people from Pharoah. And it was in Mount Sinai in the wilderness at the burning bush in which GOD spoke to Moses to call him into full-time service.
burning busH
Then, when he least expects it. As he is standing there, a powerful and mighty voice comes from out of the bush. Can you imagine the confusion and overwhelming emotions that must have poured out of Moses? And yet, again, Moses does take off, running out of fear. Moses leans into this unusual phenomenon.
Now, I don’t know what your background is or where you come from. But where I am from, the culture I was raised in. If anything like that would have occurred. We ain’t sticking around long enough to figure it out. NOPE!! But Moses continues to observe this bush as this powerful and overwhelming voice speaks to him.
As we know, that voice was the LORD’s who was introducing Himself to Moses.
I AM GOD of your fathers, the GOD of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob (Acts 7:32). |
Again, Moses did better than I probably would have. Or maybe it was because it was the Spirit of the LORD calling him forth at the right time, in the right season that made Moses stay and observe. From this burning bush, GOD gave Moses three simple instructions.
- For him to acknowledge he was in the presence of the LORD. Therefore, Moses was standing on holy grounds.
- This required Moses to remove his sandals (Acts 7:32).
- Then GOD proceeds to say to Moses that GOD sees and hears the plight of HIS people. Therefore, Moses had to carefully listen to everything GOD was about to say to him.
GOD’S TIMINg
Side Note: REVIVAL. Many church leaders and members have been talking about a revival. A revival that is so much needed in this day and age. But we have to be mindful that a true revival – a revival where GOD is in it and moving with great power and authority where lives are forever changed, hearts are mended, bodies are healed, families are restored, and the people are blessed. IT MUST AND WILL ONLY START WHEN THE PEOPLE – GOD’S PEOPLE do two things.

moses was god’s man
MOSES WAS GOD’S MAN.
HIS choice. HIS selection. HIS anointed and appointed vessel. No other man or woman or person can do what Moses was assigned to do. Only Moses could have messed up on GOD’s plan for him and the nation of Israel by either forfeiting his right to do as GOD said. Or rejecting his divine assignment. Or by living an unholy and unrighteous lifestyle – i.e. immoral sex, acting in an abusive way – physically or emotionally, or practicing anything mentioned at Galatians 5:13-21 or 1 Corinthians 6:8-10.

god is a planner – the master strateGist
The church and its leadership have GOTTEN SO FAR OFF AND AWAY FROM THIS MISSION OF GOD. Declaring things that are not so – like the gifts of the Spirit have ceased, no longer needed. Or my all-time favorite – you need nothing but the Word – the Bible. Okay, keep on just believing that. You have a right to do so. But in time, GOD will certainly reveal to you the error of your way and stinking thinking when you and your family lose your life just as Korah, a rebellious leader, lost his life and was the cause of his entire family losing theirs as well.
The church and too many leaders have made it powerless because they have gotten away from the key power tools of GOD. Let’s look at some of these and then end this post.
Every believer should read the entire chapter of the first Corinthian 12 over and over again and get it in them. And then live it out in their lives. Because here GOD states the following concerning every church, every leader, every man, woman, and child that are HIS.

THERE IS NO MEMBER in the Body of Christ, whether small or great; young or old that should not be used in GOD’s house – when and only if a member of the BODY is operating within GOD’s timing and providence. Look at those verses closely when you get a chance. But for now, I will end it right there.
For a season, A pharoah will rise
But in such a time of hardship, GOD’s people will not have to fear or despair. For GOD is with us to deliver us from the harsh hands of the pharoah. We must take note of what GOD has done for HIS people during times of persecution in the past. (Compare to 1 Corinthians 10:11). Notice what GOD did for HIS people when a Pharoah rose in Egypt to persecute; that is to kill, steal, and destroy, GOD’s people. (Compare John 10:10). Read Acts chapter 7, verses 17-22.
“But when the time of the promise drew near which GOD had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt till another king arose who did not know Joseph. This man dealt treacherously with our people, and oppressed our forefathers, making them expose their babies, so that they might not live. At this time Moses was born, and was well pleasing to GOD; and he was brought up in his father’s house for three months. But when he was set out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him away and brought him up as her own son. And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds. |
breaking down acts 7, verses 17 through 22
Notice that, what GOD had promised Abraham years prior, was finally near. So, GOD was about to fulfill that promise. (Compare to Genesis 12:2-3). But Satan. That serpent who got a whiff of what GOD was about to do. What do you think Satan, the ruler and influencer of this world did? Sat back and celebrated this upcoming victory for GOD’s people with them? Yeah right. I know y’all know better than that.
Satan was not having that. Satan is the ‘accuser’ of those in the faith. (Compare to Revelation 12:10). So, he was not going to allow such a thing to take place within his dominion. Certainly not! If people are not worshipping and celebrating him, he is and was definitely going to put a stop to it.
So, there was no way Satan was going to allow GOD to elevate and fulfill any promise GOD had made concerning HIS people’s present or future. An example of this, we can read at Genesis chapter 3. As we see, when Adam and Eve were about to see true success from all the provisions GOD had provided for them. Just before it was about to really blow up for them and they would have all the joy, happiness, and comforts life can provide a person. (Keep in mind, this was only the case for them because they were following the lifestyle and game plan GOD mapped out for them).
Just before Adam and Eve were about to experience satisfaction where they would not only NOT LACK anything, they would have more than they want. But Satan stepped in declaring – I am not having this. They ain’t serving and worship me. So, I will put a halt to this mess right now that GOD is doing for them.
But I digress. To keep from getting bogged down on this part of mankind’s history, let’s move on. Because this is not my point of discussion today.
Did Satan, the one who rules and controls the world, achieve his master plan concerning Adam and his wife? (Compare to 2 Corinthians 4:4) Yes, he did. And his disruption of GOD’s plan and provisions for a successful and happy family and life has invaded and dominated the lives of all of mankind for centuries.
Verse 18 – “Till another king arose who did not know Joseph.”
So during this season, Satan who controls the governmental system used a man in political power and placed him, that is a new Pharoah, in control over a nation. (Now, I am not going to get into the reasoning why GOD allowed a tyrant and corrupted man to gain dominance over HIS people. But you can read it for yourself in the Book of Genesis and Exodus). Back to what I was saying.
This puppet Pharoah of Satan did not know Joseph who ran and controlled the Egyptian nation in previous years. Joseph was GOD’s man. GOD’s chosen vessel that HE used to deliver HIS people and others during the time of serve famine. (Compare to Genesis 41:30-49).
Side Note: Notice GOD is involved in politics through these two men. That is Pharoah, the King of Egypt, and Joseph, the second man in command over Egypt. From a political standpoint, GOD will properly deal with this Pharoah who dare to rise up against GOD’s people. And one of the many ways GOD decides to confront this tyrant was through the appointment and use of a GOD fearing man who GOD strategically placed in a powerful position within this same nation’s corrupted political system. It is very obvious that GOD is involved in politics in every which way. Why? Because the political system is what directly impacts, influences, and governs over HIS people. We really need to understand this. Okay, moving on. Let’s not get bogged down here. |
Satan as well as his puppet Pharoah did not want to see GOD’s people maintain the power, authority, political influence, wealth, increase, and success they were having in Egypt. He certainly did not want to see this Hebrew nation remain free and inherit the promised blessing GOD promised their nation and its people through the patriarch Abraham. So Satan being the sly devil he is. He attempted to prevent the Jews continue success under GOD’s reign.
So, as I mentioned before, Satan rises up his personal puppet master – Pharoah, a tyrant of a king, to begin Satan’s process to ruin and destroy GOD’s people.
pharoah rises in power
Under Satan’s guidance, control, and rule, Pharoah’s job was to disrupt GOD’s people's confidence in GOD. Ruin them to a point where they would not trust nor believe in GOD. Satan needed Pharoah to bring the people to a mental and spiritual point where they would question the relevance of GOD in their lives.
So, we see, in verse 18, Satan raises a corrupted, crooked, and deceptive Pharoah who could accomplish what Satan needed to do in order to destroy those who serve and worship GOD.
Moving on.
Now, we see in verse 19, the mentality and behavior of this new Pharoah of Egypt. It said he was treacherous, an oppressor, and in any way he could, he “exposed” GOD’s people, particularly the children.
Verse 19 – “This man dealt treacherously with our people, and oppressed our forefathers, making them expose their babies, so that they might not live.”
Let’s step back in time for a minute. When Jacob moved his family from Hebron due to the severe famine there, to Egypt, where the grain was plentiful. Jacob and his family thrived in Egypt mainly because of Jacob’s son, Joseph, who was appointed as Egypt's second person in command under the rule of Pharoah.
If I remember correctly, at the time of Jacob’s relocation from Hebron to Egypt. His family was about 70 members during the famine. But now, after moving to Egypt, and after about 215 years had passed. GOD’s people grew into a mighty nation with strong, vibrant, men, who were able to quickly defend their families, people, and nation if called upon to do so. This nation now had many capable warriors or soldiers at their disposal when needed it.
So, as Satan and this Pharoah watched this Jewish nation grow. Their wealth and political clout increased. As Pharoah observed the Israelites' spiritual relationship with GOD prospered and the families enlarged. Satan could no longer allow this to continue. This is when Pharoah’s behavior became barbaric, inhuman, and cruel toward Israelites. We have to be mindful, that all of this was done through Pharoah, the most powerful leader in Egypt, but under the guidance of Satan the devil. The ruler over the world.
Don’t get this twisted. The reason why the world is the way it is today. The reason we see so much corruption and destruction, crime and violence, and death and a lack of support in a nation is because GOD nor Jesus is NOT ruling nor controlling the world. GOD has not given Jesus yet the right to retake what Satan has taken from mankind (the first Adam) to reestablish God's original plan for mankind. This is why we see what we see in our world’s political system. GOD is not ruling it. Satan and his appointees are.
Turning our attention back to verse 9 of Acts chapter 7. Pharoah, under the guidance and influence of Satan, extirpated or “expose” the children of Israel. Many of us know the unfortunate event that occurred when Pharoah sent forth his decree that required his soldiers to go through the land where the Hebrews lived and to throw every male child under a certain age into the Nile River. (Exodus 1:22). This Pharoah was brutal..
So, Acts chapter 7, verse 19 states that Pharoah “expose” the Israelites' children or babies. Let me provide clarity just in case any miss the point here. When Pharoah sent forth his decree to have the male offspring of the Hebrews thrown into the Nile. Pharoah’s goal was to persecute GOD’s people to the point where GOD could not fulfill Abraham’s promise in their lives. (Compare to John 10:10).
The point behind Pharoah’s cruel acts were to control Israel’s power of influence and to decrease the expansion of the Hebrew nation. If Pharoah was able to kill, steal, and destroy the faith and physical being of this nation’s seed, their children. Then he could crush this nation. Preventing them from growing and populating their nation with their kind.
Thought Provoking: So, now, honestly ask yourself. Does this not sound familiar to our time today? Today, we see in our political screen, that many of the political leaders have turned their attention to the church – GOD’s people. Why? To celebrate and embrace them? Certainly not. Instead, like the Pharoah of the past, our government figureheads are not only persecuting and acting harsh toward GOD's people. Political leaders are or attempting to change policies that completely contradict GOD’s Word. What GOD says is right and good and true and righteous and just and fair. HIS laws, when applied the way GOD said they should be, best benefit EVERY living being. HIS Word is like an ornament on our soul. It heals, delivers, saves, guides, directs – oh I can go on concerning the benefits of GOD’s Word, ways, and laws. To add icing to the cake. GOD is not a tyrant when it comes to HIS leadership style. He is loving, just, fair, graceful, kind, patient, merciful, forgiving, a great provider and leader, and cares about the welfare of HIS people. Now, compare these qualities to that of Pharoah or any king or president, or ruler throughout mankind's human history. Okay, do I need to say anything else? One more point. Take for example, when considering this current presidential administration. The way this president operates this administration, he has not kept any of his promises. He is deceptive and cunning. And from my personal perspective. He is in this office illegally. He has not been selected nor appointed by GOD for this role. Hence, why he has not had the level of success he thought he would have. Okay, moving on. I believe you all get my point. Yes, we had a few good human leaders here and there. But none of us come close to the God who is the King of kings and LORD of lords. NONE. |
Verse 20 – “At this time Moses was born, and was well pleasing to God; and he was brought up in his father’s house for three months..”
Do you see what GOD is doing here? As the plight of GOD’s people shifted due to persecution, GOD is already at work to put a young man in a place that would help free HIS people from bondage. That will deliver GOD’s people in their times of hardship. He is always ready and prepare to cease and undo the works of the devil on behalf of HIS people.
So, to respond to Pharoah’s harsh persecution, GOD rises HIS future deliver as verse 20 shows. “At that time Moses was born, and was well pleasing to GOD….” (Compare to Jeremiah 1:5).
What is so splendid and powerful about GOD is that HE selects the one who HE plans to use to solve some major problem with HIS people, years in advance. (Compare to 1 Corinthians chapter 12). Then He positions that one from a young age to receive the right training, education; and allows that person to go through certain trials and testings to shape his or her charater and build up his or her abilities in such a way so that he or she can achieve and resolve whatever that is needed for GOD’s purpose, people, and Kingdom work.
So, in this case, Satan puts into office a tyrant who was there to subdue and destroy GOD’s people. GOD allowed it because HIS people rebelled against HIM. And as a form of discipline, GOD removed HIS hedge of protection from over and around HIS people. (Compare to Hebrews 12:6). And this allowed Satan and his minions to come in and cause much turmoil in the lives of GOD’s people.
BUT GOD knows how to rescue HIS people from the hands of not only any tyrant. But also from the snare of Satan. GOD also knows, that sometimes, years need to pass before HIS people would realize and accept the responsibility for the error of their ways. Some, 400 years passed before it came the time for Moses, GOD’s deliver, to come onto the scene to challenge the king of Egypt. Each time Moses appeared before Pharoah, he would declare this one powerful and warning line to him. 'LET MY PEOPLE GO.'
But the shred pride and arrogance of Pharoah were not going to have that. Besides, he saw himself as a god before the people. In fact, Pharoah did not just see himself as a god. But he saw himself as the god who was supreme over all other gods. Go back and read your Bible history. Many kings and other pharaohs thought the same thing. And in GOD’s due time. After HIS people finally came to their senses. REPENT and beseech GOD for help from their enemies. GOD eventually sends in HIS chosen vessel, like Moses to reclaim what is HIS. For an extensive period of time, Moses confronted Pharoah, and demanded that Pharaoh ‘let my people go.'
Now, wait one cotton picking minute. Is this not the same Pharaoh who was persecuting, killing, and making life miserable for the Hebrews? So, what made Moses different? How did Moses, who was a Hebrew himself, was able to come into the palace of Pharoah and make such demands and not be killed for challenging the king of Egypt? Two reasons.
1. Moses was authorized, selected, anointed, appointed, hand-picked, and personally molded by GOD to force Pharoah to let GOD’s people go. (Compare to 1 Corinthians chapter 12). Moses was born to fulfill this one singular purpose concerning his people – GOD’s people. Let's establish this point, so you don’t overlook why this is so significant. Let’s just say hypothetically, another Hebrew man or any other man came along and try to do all that Moses did for his people, his nation. He attempted to do all the things Moses did under GOD’s direction and guidance for his people. What will be the outcome? Well, I am confident. Considering the type of ruthless ruler Pharoah was. Any man who tried to confront and take Pharoah on would be dead in an instance. And GOD’s people will still be slaves today. But Pharoah was not able to put his hands on Moses. Or slay Moses. Or dismiss or ignore Moses because GOD was in control. It was the hour for GOD to free HIS people from the hands of Pharoah. But through that process of freeing HIS people, GOD was trying to show Pharoah grace and mercy in hopes that he too would repent, turn around, and come to serve the One who is the KING of kings and the LORD of lords. (Compare to 1 Timothy 6:15; Danial 2:20-22). But Pharoah refused to take the hand of GOD. He refused to repent and turn away from his wicked ways (sin). And we know how his story ends. GOD’s people were finally freed from the grip of Pharoah. 2. Moses was very familiar with the ways, customs, traditions, livelihood, lifestyles, habits, and elite privilege status. Moses knew how to speak and move within the camp of the Egyptians because he was brought up as part of their kingdom – their ruling class. Remember, our Bible history teaches us that Pharaoh’s daughter took Moses in during the time when her father was having all the Hebrew male boys of a certain age thrown into the Nile River. During this time, Moses’ was around the age of two. And if Pharoah had it his way. Moses’ life would have been cut short. He should have ended up in the Nile River with all the other young Hebrew boys who were murdered at the hands of Pharoah. But Moses' life was spared at the hands of Pharoah’s daughter. Why? Because GOD had an assignment for Moses once he reached his prime age of maturity and could handle GOD’s assignment, GOD's people, and Pharoah, the King of Egypt. |
But the key to the Israelites not being diminished or destroy under the rulership of ruthless Pharoah was not that Moses was all-powerful and had that level of clout. I am certain that wasn't it. Moses accomplish the things he did before Pharoah scared. He wasn't confident he could do what GOD was asking him to do. You cannot convince me that Moses was not fearful for his life each time he had to confront Pharoah.
Moses fulfilled his assignment before Pharoah scared. But the reason he was successful was because
1. GOD gave him all authority Moses need to complete the tasks.
2. Moses closely followed the instructions GOD gave him. He did not compromise nor deviate from the things GOD told him to do no matter what it was. Remember, the 10 Plagues. Imagine for a minute, GOD telling you to do these kinds of things. Just wow.
3. Moses placed his faith, trust, and confidence not in himself or the men who was with him. He put his explicit trust in GOD.
And that was the key, by means of GOD, Moses was able to defeat Pharoah, the king of Egypt.
After Moses completed his main kingdom assignment for GOD. (And there were other tasks GOD had Moses to do). We see later, in our Bible history, Moses lived even a more wealthy lifestyle than he lived when he was considered the son of Pharoah. As the son of GOD who was well pleased with Moses. Moses eventually lived a life accomplished and satisfied, where Moses had no more want because GOD provided so abundantly for Moses’ household.
The word of the lord
When the LORD God gives a word, it is for the sole purpose to teach, reproof, correct, or train His servants - His Body, so that every member within the Body of Christ may be adequate, equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). For the LORD has given the Body of Christ apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip the Saints for the work of service, to encourage one another, and to build up the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Thessalonians 5:11).
This page will focus on providing the Body of Christ words of the LORD, that He has spoken through Deaidre. Regardless of the nature of the words of the LORD below - whether there is a word that teaches, reproofs, corrects, or trains, it is all for the purpose to build up the Body of Christ so that each one of us is made righteous, adequate, equipped for every good work.
