With prophecies, God does not necessarily give us all the details. Especially when dealing with people close to you. For example, over the years, God has given me prophetic words, words of wisdom, as well as words of knowledge concerning quite a few people who studied the Bible under our tutelage. Some words were powerful, encouraging, uplifting, and edifying. But many of the words were warnings to inform a Bible student that they were heading in the wrong direction or was about to make a bad decision. So, the word I often received was a word of correction and warning, which was completely up to the student to receive it or not. In every case, God was only using me as a messager – not an enforcer of the word given. (Compare to 1 Corinthians 3:6-11, Ezekiel 33:1-6). The point is, prophetic words, whether they come in form of a word of knowledge or word of wisdom, can be good or bad for the individual receiving it. In either case, they are beneficial to the listener and the one the word is for. (Compare to 2 Timothy 3:16-17). Lackadaisy attITUde Take for example, between October 2019 and January 2020, I received several warning dreams and visions concerning one of our Bible students. (There were others but, in this posting, I am focusing on one particular Bible student’s situation). At any rate, these dreams and visions were often very descriptive, full of vivid details and symbolism, and very alarming and concerning. With some of the dreams, we were instructed or allowed in certain circumstances to share and reveal the warning dreams and visions with the Bible student. With others, we were only instructed or allowed to pray and cover the individual concerning these dreams and visions. For long a time, we did not know if the individual was taking our warnings seriously, and we feared the worst for this person because of their lackadaisical attitude toward the warnings that were given. But we kept praying over this individual concerning these dreams and visions, in hopes that a real heart transformation would take place concerning this individual. We were praying that they would seriously heed to and receive the counsel and warnings giving and hearten to the prophetic counsel and warning they received. But sad to say, during the latter part of 2019 and early part of 2020, we watched the fulfillment of those prophetic dreams and visions start to manifest – to come true. It was heartbreaking for us to see the fulfillment of these things that could have easily been avoided. (Compare to Ezekiel 33:1-6). Being obedient to the commands and the voice of the lord What was weird to us about this Bible student’s situation was about mid-2020, God had us start laying our hands on this person and to start speaking bold and powerful declarations over this individual. To be honest, these were declarations that we probably were doubtful about and even questioned ourselves. But we knew the LORD was speaking to us concerning these declarations and we needed to be obedient concerning God’s way and thoughts concerning the matter. I remembered one of our Bible students who were present for some of these declarations we were making over and concerning this person, voiced their opinion about the matter. This individual did not want to see us be hoodwinked by this person. The Bible student voiced their concerns and felt we were being misled and did not want to see us taken advantage of. But we had to explain to this person’s loving jester and concern the ways of the LORD (Isaiah 55:8-9). That we can't react toward people based on what we see nor even what we have heard about a person. We have to respond and deal with people according to and by what the LORD is actually showing and instructing us to do and say concerning an individual. Our opinions and perspectives really do not matter. So, the laying of our hands on this individual and the declarations of speaking truth into this person’s negative situation was purely based on God’s perspective, His truth about that person and not ours. And yes, sometimes this can be challenging. But it is our goal to be obedient to the commands and the voice of the LORD and not to our personal opinions or perspectives. Ineffective and useless bible teachersWith that being said, it leads me back to my opening statement concerning prophecies. That God does not always give us all the details – the who, what, why, when, and all the details associated with it. Why? Just imagine for a second, in the case of this one Bible student that I mentioned earlier. If God would have given us a complete understanding of all the warning dreams and visions. Imagine how we would have messed it up and made this person’s situation worse than it was before (Jeremiah 17:9; Proverbs 3:5; Proverbs 16:25). Let me explain. If God would have provided all the prophetic details, we needed so that we would completely understand the Bible student’s evil motive, ways, and heart during that season (between 2019 and 2020). Then as Bible teachers and the instruments, God was using to shepherd this individual’s life, we would have impeded this Bible student’s progress – what God was desiring to do in this individual’s life. We would have been influenced by our own internal biases concerning this Bible student. Which in turn, would cause us to become ineffective and useless Bible teachers and spiritual guides in this person’s life. We would have impeded and even stunt this person’s growth. We could have even damaged this person’s spirit and broken them even worse than they were before God had brought them to us. Even worse, we could have aided in pushing that person even further away from God due to our biases and lack of understanding concerning the warning dreams and visions we were giving. This is the reason why I believe God did not make the dreams, visions, and warnings He gave us concerning this person completely clear. We only partially understood enough in order to know that this person had placed themselves in a bad situation. And if the individual did not get it together. Soon, it was looking pretty dark for this person. The transformation What was the outcome of this one Bible student’s situation as it related to the warning dreams and visions, we were having between 2019 and 2020?
To be honest, if I would have completely gone by the things God was showing us through the prophetic dreams, visions, and warnings, I would have written this person off. However, because I choose to be obedient to all God called us to do and say concerning this person. Despite what we were hearing and seeing from and about this person. Despite the behavior of this person. Despite what God was showing and confirming to us about this person – this person about mid-way in 2020 made a complete 180 turn toward God and the things of God. This person began to shred off dead weight and start to put on a new personality (1 Corinthians 5:17). Now, although many of the prophetic dreams, visions, and warnings were fulfilled starting in January 2020 concerning this individual because they did not take seriously, did not receive, nor heed the warnings given. So, this person’s fate was sealed. And they had to experience the full penalty of failing to heed God’s warning through His servants. For us as Bible teachers, it was extremely hard to watch this person experience their painful situation as the word was spoken to them. But in its fulfillment. These prophetic dreams, visions, and warnings were what need to occur for this individual to see and grasp a better understanding of God and even the prophetic and how it really works. To learn that God is real. That God is active and alive and working in our lives. For this individual to hear the prophetic dreams, visions, and warnings that were given from God through His servants and then to see them to be fulfilled because of the individual’s failure to respond to the voice of the LORD was eye-opening for the individual. It turned this person’s life completely around. In fact, I strongly believe if God would have instead provided us a complete understanding of the meanings of these visions, dreams, and warnings concerning this person’s messy reality, it would have resulted in a different outcome for this Bible student. Because we, as Bible teachers, would respond to, react towards, and treat this Bible student differently due to our own cynical and warp views toward the Bible student. We would have allowed our own prejudices to dominate the situation instead of Holy Spirit guiding us through this person’s predicament. This is why a teacher only knows and understands in part. We could not handle the shred weight of most people’s circumstances and therefore, we are unable to judge with righteous judgment in most people’s cases (John 7:24). Therefore, it is God's desire to protect such Bible students by limiting our understanding of prophecies through dreams and visions, and warnings. He can only trust man with a portion. Because if giving the whole, man would destroy it. Therefore, it is wise when dealing with people, especially as it relates to dreams, visions, and divine warnings concerning them. That we must trust, completely trust God’s wisdom, and not our own or what others say or think about a person or a matter (Isaiah 55:8-9, 1 Samuel 16:7). We will always get the best result whenever we put our complete trust into God and His ways, His thoughts, His views, His perspectives.
