Disturbing Dream

​I was tagged in a Facebook post by a friend concerning a disturbing dream he had. He requested that I and a few others help provide him some insight as to what the dream meant. After I read his dream and then prayed to God concerning it. Below was the interruption God provided me to provide my friend some clarity concerning his dream.

Well, I believe you have already interpreted your dream within your Facebook post. But I want to share a Scripture with you first and then lead into your dream interpretation.

At Joel 2:28, it says, “… it shall come to pass afterward, that I (God) will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. (Also see Acts 2:17).

Since the beginning of time, one of the ways God speaks through men is through dreams. (Compare to Daniel 1:17, Numbers 12:6, Daniel 4:5). So, it was intriguing to me when you tagged me concerning this recent dream of yours because I have been praying for you brother. Asking God to teach you who He really is and to reveal Himself to you through dreams and visions, which I think is one of the most effective ways God can communicate with us. Because when we are sleeping, we are not able to insert our own prejudice, bias, or can allow our perspective to get in the way of what God is trying to show us about something or even about ourselves. ​

Your dream

Your dream is a twofold dream. ​
​

1.  God is showing you what people have become today. Both Matthew and the Apostle Paul spoke about this inevitable day. Matthew 24:9-12 says, that nations will hate God’s people because of Jesus’ name; people will betray and hate one another; many false prophets will arise and mislead the massive; lawlessness will increase; and love for one another will deplete. 2 Timothy 3:1-4 further confirms this by saying, men will love only themselves and money, will be boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, malicious, gossips, brutal, haters of good, reckless…. (I left some things out but you can read it later).

So, your dream is a prelude to what our world is becoming like, or should I say have become. We live in a society where people have no self-control. They are haughty, liars, slanderous toward what is righteous, good, and just. Immoral, prideful, deceitful, and unholy. Hence, your dream aligns with all the things God's prophets have foretold that will take place during the end times.

2.  Now what was interesting is you said, you were just watching all the action that was taking place in the dream, but you “felt everything.” You could feel their hate, rage, anger. These feelings made you feel like you wanted “to smash” stuff. This is quite normal to feel the events of the activities in a dream. ​God is showing you the influence this world can have on a man like you if you are not careful and wise. You can take on the traits, habits, attitudes, and prejudices of this world if you engross yourself for too long in these environments without connecting to the Source that keeps us from being tainted by this world. 

What did throw me for a loop about your dream was that you said, the rage you felt was so intense that your teeth were hurting from probably “gritting them” in your sleep. But then a Scripture came to my mind at Luke chapter 13 when one of Jesus’ disciples asked Jesus, “are there just a few who are being saved?” Jesus’ explanation at verses 24 through 30 of chapter 13 in Luke should be an eye-opener for us. I won’t read it all but Jesus’ answer to him was a simple yes. Not all will be saved and in verse 28, he states, “… that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, BUT YOURSELVES BEING THROWN OUT. 

It is apparent to me that in your dream, God is showing you the kinds of people who will not be a part of His Kingdom. (Also see 2 Timothy 3:15 and Galatians 5:19-21). And yet, in the last words you spoke in your Facebook post, God provided you the interpretation of your own dream, which is God’s heart desire for all men – the path He wants you yourself to choose.
